This is Duke, a 3-year-old male Great Dane and Labrador Retriever mix from Austin, Texas. Duke is a rescue who was slated for euthanasia when I found him. This pic was taken the very first time he got on our bed after I brought him home. Clearly, he liked the bed compared to the concrete kennel he had lived in for two months prior to adoption =) Duke has gone on to be my right-hand man and will regularly put his giant head on my lap so he can stare up at me while I read or watch tv. I think he knows I took him out of that place and I know that I have a companion for life. Photo sent by Jason.
