This is Barney, the 5 year old male Bassett Hound dog from Portland, Oregon. Barney is a 5 year old guard basset who is sufferring a rare skeleton shrinking condition. Has been called Barney the Koala Dog as he has the same energy and daily movement of an average koala. Photo sent by Lance Rooney.

This is Chloe, the 16 month old female Basset Hound dog from New Jersey. Typically during the summer I sit outside with Chloe and her friends and give them some play time.  As I was sitting there I heard Chloe start groaning.  When I looked over this was what I saw.  Apparently she had had enough play for one day and was letting me know she was ready for a nap…or belly rub? Photo sent by Kim.

This is Draak, the 5 month old male Basset Hound dog from Hoedspruit, South Africa. Draak, or dragon in Afrikaans, is named after the Draakenburg Mountains he calls home. Draak loves paling around with his other doggy friends and chasing the miniature ponies endlessly. This is Wally, the 8 month old male Basset Hound from Pretoria, South Africa. Wally enjoys the little things in life:
1. Gardening – Eating rocks (which have to be surgically removed)
2. Afternoon strolls – Making his owners carry him back home halfway through a walkie (his entire 23kg's)
3. Light Naps – ALL. THE. TIME.
4. Reading – Enjoys the taste of expensive magazines
5. Doing laundry – Fancies a bit of a chew on any given sweaty sock, the smellier the better
6. Grooming – Does drinking your owner's bath water count? No?
7. Good music – Nothing like his owner's double-disc cd & dvd set for breakfast…we've lost a couple of great albums that way
8. Road Trips – Front seat only, on driver's lap even better
9. Meeting new people – and chewing their valuable, irreplaceable items right after
10. Lying Upside down – the best position for sleeping, eating, chewing, playing, scratching and making his owners proud!

This is Redford, the 3 year old male Basset Hound from Northern California. Our Hound from the Pound, Redford loves eating dandelion flowers, taking walks, and cuddling with our other rescued basset Gidget. They're never more than a few feet apart.  Photo sent by Stacy.

This is Lulu, the 10 year old female Basset Hound from Memphis. Our beloved Lulu passed away in January. She gave us the best love for 10 years. This is Tobias Sanchez Gonzalez, the 2 year old male 1/2 Basset Hound – 1/2 Chow Chow from Torrance.  So this one time Toby is walking me right… and we pass this little boy and his father.
